Work: The Future of Connected Tools

Details: The goal for this project was to develop a connected tool system designed to improve commercial construction processes. In order to accomplish this mission, four students began working together in a small team and later as a whole cohort of thirteen explore how interconnected tool systems can generate value.
Students began by conducting interviews and gathering secondary research before conceptualizing design solutions that explored emerging technologies.

Visualizing up-to-date information on an evolving construction site can pose a challenge. Communication channels must be maintained to ensure that current information is distributed to all relevant stakeholders.
Utilizing a centralized system to manage time, resources and tasks can eliminate errors and catalyze efficiency .

Similar to touch displays, users interact with the collaboration device via contact with the projection. Workers have access to task lists and schedules. They can send and receive messages with management and other workers.
